Rita of Cascia
Saint Rita of Cascia is the patron saint of impossible cases, infertility, difficult marriages, domestic violence and parenthood. Rita wanted to become a nun at an early age however she was pressured into marrying an abusive and ill tempered man named Paolo Mancini. After his and their two son's death, she joined the Augustinian nuns in Cascia through the intercession of other saints she prayed to. Rita was well known for her prayerfulness and charity but also a head wound she had that was associated with the crown of thorns. Her feast day is May 22nd.
