The pendant is shaped like a firefighter shield and in the center features a firefighter's helmet, ladder, and hose. There is a banner on the top that reads "Fire" and one on the bottom that reads "Fighter". On the left and right sides are a fire hydrant and a ladder. The back of the medal features a raised figure of St. Florian, who is depicted as a Roman soldier with a bucket of water, pouring it over fire. There are words that read, "St. Florian Protect Us".
